finding the best album just got easier

I don’t think I make it much of a secret that I love Queensberry albums. They are gorgeous. They can be both modern and timeless and can be customized to completely match your wedding day and style. Some day I will have my own. I have been saving my nickels and pennies and designing and redesigning a million times. I originally designed my own album already. Almost five years ago. But that album had 100 pages. And it is huge. It sits on a shelf that’s hard to get to, because, well, that’s the best spot for it. Sometimes I think I need a wedding album that fits our life better. I think my dream book is a 10×7 horizontal Queensberry Duo. Somewhere between 30-40 sides. I know. I am quite specific. But then…I love the little duplicates they make. And sometimes I think I need a 10×14 just so I can have a mini. Silly? Maybe. The fact that I want the mini still after being married for 5 years already. Hey, we’re happy and I still LOVE my pictures. There isn’t anything wrong with that.

Anyway…I am getting off topic. There are still plenty of people left in our lives to get married. Not as many as there used to be. But plenty. And thankfully, some of them are wise enough to come to us for advice about the photography. I recently helped my brother find a photographer in San Diego. They did not want an album at all and were fairly adamant about that, so while I included it in my search, it wasn’t the prime factor. But let me tell you. Finding a photographer cross country is surprisingly difficult. A close friend moved back home to Seattle. We’re *hoping* she is engaged soon. And while there are a TON of well known people in Seattle, there are even more incredible people who aren’t “famous”. This friend works in fashion, so I know she will want an incredibly stylish, beautiful, timeless album that she can make “her”. Now, I have a great way to point her in the direction of some photographers that I at least know use amazing albums.

Queensberry just did a “soft launch” of a directory to find photographers that use their albums worldwide. If you are a bride who happened to find this, give it a go. If you are a photographer, check it out and send Queensberry some feedback. And if you don’t carry their albums but you are looking for something to make you stand out, definitely check them out!

New Save The Date

One of my favorite things on the fridge right now is the save the date that just came from Laura & Steve. I saw one of my favorite things, because I can’t deny… We have a lot of cute stuff on there. I might also be biased because I helped Laura put these together. We wanted to tie it to their invites, but also make it fun! People need to know that they are to prepare for a PAR-TAY.

Other awesome-ness about the save the date… Adios & Ciao Ciao are their cake toppers. And I took the photo

Also – I know, I know, I haven’t posted in FOREVER! I am sorry! New things are in the works and I am keeping busy, busy, busy! But I’ll be trying to get back into the swing of things slowly, but surely.

Sign In Book: Jerry & Mary

This book was a special project. It was my gift to my brother and his new bride. The wedding was last weekend in beautiful San Diego, so I can finally share the book with everyone. For their engagement shoot, they chose to wear their wedding attire so that they could spend more time with friends and family on the wedding day. It was a complete surprise to me when I saw the pictures. Then I saw they even did a first look! Luckily I don’t think my brother ever checks this site out, so I can share that he cried!

Unfortunately, they loved the book so much, they could not bring themselves to let people sign in it as planned. So I don’t have photos with the signatures… oh well! Still a gorgeous book! And check out the shot I made their centerfold! It never looks like that in Philadelphia…

Their pre-wedding photos and wedding day were shot by Sara & Jeremy or Sara France Photography. I cannot wait to see what is in store for use from the wedding!

Now this is the dream scenario for album designing isn’t it?

Carm & Dave just got married a few months ago. Having so many amazing images to choose from, she asked for the album to be designed for her. Kamila Harris sent me EVERY image from the wedding that had 3 photographers. All 1700 of them. This was late Thursday night. On Monday morning, I uploaded the album for Carmela & Dave to preview and make any changes. Carm made very few comments, and the next night, we had an approval! Of an album that had about 50% more sides than originally planned

Now that you have seen the detail that went into this wedding – can you see why I loved it so much? I have seen A LOT of wedding pictures. When you can tell from the images just how much emotion there was through the day like you can from these….ahhh…I love it! And the Mario & Peach cake topper doesn’t hurt…I have the same little figures
