We started working on this for WPPI 2010 when she first started promoting the DVDs that were being prepped! It seems like forever ago now.

]]> Way back when I didn’t have a baby I worked on a design project that was loads of fun. But then, I never blogged it because I didn’t have a chance to sit down and actually put the post up. For that I am sorry. I worked with Sara over the course of a couple months to take her Aperture Training DVDs from start to finish. We started working on this for WPPI 2010 when she first started promoting the DVDs that were being prepped! It seems like forever ago now.

What’s really awesome is that now Aperture is even more accessible. You can download it right form the App Store on your Mac and for only $79.99. Super cheap right? Despite my complete Apple fandom, I am a Lightroom user though, I can’t deny it. Maybe someday I will make the switch. I started with Aperture and we broke up since Lightroom was easier for me when Aperture was in its infancy. It has come leaps and bounds, and if you want training on it, Sara’s DVD’s are definitely the way to go! Oh, you want your training instantly? You can download everything too! I made the adorable buttons on her store site as well. Check it out.

]]> Happy April! After some snow to start the month, we have an 80+F day today! Yay! I can’t wait to get outside! A unique wedding venue always makes an album more exciting, and since this wedding took place in Lincoln, Nebraska, it was definitely a change of pace for me. Typically, I dread the “party page”, but I adored the details of this wedding and the entire reception seemed like a ton of fun. I really love the whole thing, but rather than bore you with 40+ sides of awesomeness, I will try to limit it to my favorites. Sorry, I couldn’t limit it too much. There is something about a super clean album design that just gets me every time. The images are the star of each and every page.

While I was prepping the files for the blog, I noticed my last album design I posted was also Amanda and Ryan. So, for all you Amanda’s out there, I hope you find your Ryan.

They can be both modern and timeless and can be customized to completely match your wedding day and style. Some day I will have my own. I have been saving my nickels and pennies and designing and redesigning a million times. I originally designed my own album already. Almost five years ago. But that album had 100 pages. And it is huge. It sits on a shelf that’s hard to get to, because, well, that’s the best spot for it. Sometimes I think I need a wedding album that fits our life better. I think my dream book is a 10×7 horizontal Queensberry Duo. Somewhere between 30-40 sides. I know. I am quite specific. But then…I love the little duplicates they make. And sometimes I think I need a 10×14 just so I can have a mini. Silly? Maybe. The fact that I want the mini still after being married for 5 years already. Hey, we’re happy and I still LOVE my pictures. There isn’t anything wrong with that.

Anyway…I am getting off topic. There are still plenty of people left in our lives to get married. Not as many as there used to be. But plenty. And thankfully, some of them are wise enough to come to us for advice about the photography. I recently helped my brother find a photographer in San Diego. They did not want an album at all and were fairly adamant about that, so while I included it in my search, it wasn’t the prime factor. But let me tell you. Finding a photographer cross country is surprisingly difficult. A close friend moved back home to Seattle. We’re *hoping* she is engaged soon. And while there are a TON of well known people in Seattle, there are even more incredible people who aren’t “famous”. This friend works in fashion, so I know she will want an incredibly stylish, beautiful, timeless album that she can make “her”. Now, I have a great way to point her in the direction of some photographers that I at least know use amazing albums.

Queensberry just did a “soft launch” of a directory to find photographers that use their albums worldwide. If you are a bride who happened to find this, give it a go. If you are a photographer, check it out and send Queensberry some feedback. And if you don’t carry their albums but you are looking for something to make you stand out, definitely check them out!

Unfortunately, they loved the book so much, they could not bring themselves to let people sign in it as planned. So I don’t have photos with the signatures… oh well! Still a gorgeous book! And check out the shot I made their centerfold! It never looks like that in Philadelphia…

Their pre-wedding photos and wedding day were shot by Sara & Jeremy or Sara France Photography. I cannot wait to see what is in store for use from the wedding!
