Back in July, someone found the Piqulette blog looking for business advice. It was very exciting to me to see that it was something that not only brought someone to the site, but then, they were inspired to read a bit and spend some time. It inspired an initial post about my excitement, and then a follow-up post with one of my business goals. I realize it has been a while since these posts, so I decided I would revisit them.

Last night was the Philadelphia networking party for The Knot. It caused me to fall a minute behind on blogging, but was totally worth it. This year’s theme was Carnival and it super fun. Cotton candy spun around prime rib satays, the most delicious mini burger ever, pretzel knots (get it? knots…), mini funnel cakes with parmesean…mmmm mmmm good! I wish I had taken pictures, but between business cards, glasses, plates, etc, I couldn’t handle carrying one more thing I do however want to say thank you to everyone who put together the great event! I confess. I have been a bad blogger. Life and work caught up with me for a bit and I apologize! August was vacation month, so can I use that for my excuse for not blogging my best in September? No? Ok, no excuses.
On the bright side, my lack of blogging means plenty has built up for me to share with you in the coming weeks! Lots of album designs and such!

A few weeks ago I posted about setting up a business plan. I noticed that someone had stumbled upon Piqulette trying to find advice on breaking even in graphic design. This inspired me to share a little bit about my goals and “business plan”. Recently, the Piqulette blog was discovered by someone trying to learn how to break even in graphic design. Now, they didn’t find what they were looking for necessarily. They found an article about Break Even‘s new business cards. Anyway, it got me thinking about how I hope to break even, and how important having a plan of some sort is.
Just saying business plan can scare away many people. But I want to offer a different perspective on it. A business plan does not have to be the most formal thing in the world. If you went to school
