I will never understand the proper terms for Twitter-use. Did I twit, or tweet, or twitter? If Google is both a noun and the verb, Why does Twitter get so many words. Tweeple? Tweeps? Seriously?
Anyway…I didn’t use Twitter until this past February. I signed up at WPPI because they were pushing it for a scavenger hunt? I didn’t do the scavenger hunt. But I started to appreciate the networking value of Twitter. I can connect to people all over the place that I wouldn’t necessarily connect to on a site like Facebook. I tend to use Facebook more as a personal networking tool. I now understand “micro-blogging”. I can follow hundreds of you and quickly see a list of things I may want to check out on the inter-web. I can interact when I feel compelled, or I can update my few followers on what I am working on. I can reach out to ask questions and get feedback. And most importantly, I can see all The Onion headlines for a good laugh every now and then.
Chatter
