I used to always pass by a maternity store named Belly and think it was the cutest thing in the world. When the owner retired, Elizabeth and Chelsea paired up to take over. Renaming the store From Belly to Baby, they started their business while finishing up school. This was temporary while they worked to create the brand they were dreaming up…Showing With Style. The name they came up with is so perfect. When you walk into the store, if you aren’t already pregnant, I kid you not, you either want to be pregnant, or at least know someone pregnant. I won’t deny, I (not currently or ever in the past pregnant) own a shirt from the store. I try to pull it off as a dress, but it is just a bit too short.
When Chelsea found out I was a graphic designer, one of the first thing she asked me was if I could help them create a vector from a sketch. Not a typical request, but it was nice that she knew what a vector was, and that she needed one
Alice Dake had created a sketch for them that was simply beautiful. I was honored to be able to be involved in helping them create their new look, and I simply love it.
When they couldn’t decide on a final color for both of them, Chelsea came over for a bit and we played around to create a few samples for her and Elizabeth. Chelsea ended up with fuchsia and Elizabeth with lavender. The slight yellow background of the cards and the rounded corners are the perfect finishing touches to match the look and feel of the store. And I love that they went with 100% recycled paper!
Be sure to check out Alice ! And remember – designer’s don’t always have to work with a completely blank slate.

of course i’m leaving a comment because i saw the basic skeleton of these cards months ago and loved your ideas then… they look awesome now that they’re finished! definitely something to be proud of.
they look excellent! i too love that they chose recycled paper (tho am not surprised) and LOVE that Chelsea and Elizabeth each chose their own signature color for their cards. the rounded corners add grace and style, the lettering is a perfect complement to the image and i love that you used the daisy pattern on the reverse. very nice work, Angelique…and best of luck to you! i am linking your blog to my facebook page.
Thank you girls!!!!
