Damask is crazy popular right now. High-end kid portraits are crazy popular right now. Yes, many people LOVE combining a fancy damask pattern with a high contrast photo of a newborn baby. It couldn’t get classier, could it? I wanted to play in illustrator a bit, so I decided to create a pattern. But rather than your typical damask, I decided to create this. Damask as a style is by definition floral pattern…so I guess this is my “doodlebug damask” (click it for an expanded view).

Coming soon, some borders and frames to match, and I imagine this is going to turn into quite a cute little book full of images of my nieces :) I would love to hear what you think!!

is it time for a facelift?

If you own a business, when was the last time you updated your logo. Or your website design? Or business card design? Nothing can remain the same for too long anymore. So many people blame this on the internet. Twitter & Facebook use has dropped our attention spans to nothing. There always must be something new to keep us coming back. Blogs have replaced websites. Dynamic content is key.

But sometimes, it isn’t even a matter of exciting content and constantly updated content that keeps us captivated. Sometimes, all something needs it just a little bit of a facelift to keep up with the times. Since I discovered it a little over a year ago, I have been a huge fan of Under Consideration’s blog Brand New. I LOVE logo design, so getting to see some classic (and some not-so-classic) logo designs go through their redesign is great! I love being able to find this is one place. This morning I discovered this postand I really appreciated that it applied this concept beyond graphic design. For me, it reinforced that design is everywhere. Everything can be a source of inspiration. Possibly the inspiration to change things up a bit? I just did….so is it your turn now?

with the fishies

WIth all the rain we have had in Philadelphia (seriously, it won’t stop), I decided the aquarium album was appropriate for tonight’s post. Adventure Aquarium offered such a colorful backdrop to Heather & Nick’s special day, that I wanted to reflect that throughout the book, so it is a bit more colorful than most. Enjoy & let me know what you think! (photos © kamila harris photography)
